Old Harbour are parish champions of the SDC T20 Cricket for the fifth time after defeating arch rival Greater Portmore by six wickets at Chedwin Park yesterday.
Two-time national champions Old Harbour will represent St Catherine in the national play-offs.
Opener Devoy Smith led Old Harbour’s victory charge with an unbeaten 57 after Greater Portmore posted 134 for eight off 20 overs.
Rushane Bird (45) topscored for the south St Catherine side that opted to bat after winning toss against the bowling of Krischon Givans (3-17), Christopher Halstead (3-30) and Deron Royal, two for 18.
Old Harbour, of south west St Catherine, responded with 138 for four in 18.1 overs, thanks to Smith’s mature knock with support coming from Ronville Brown (32) and Erron Downer, who made 24.
Old Harbour, the 2011 and 2012 national champions, have secured themselves $100,000 for winning the parish title, while Greater Portmore will receive $50,000 as runner-up.
