SDC T20: Old Harbour defeat Heartease by 36 runs

Title challengers, Old Harbour defeated Heartease of St Thomas by 36 runs in their SDC T20 encounter at Maxfield Park on Saturday.

Victory puts Old Harbour atop the four-team group following the completion of the first round of matches in the National Play-Offs.

The St Catherine champions won the toss and batted before posting 140 for nine off their 20 overs. Veteran Lascele Davis topscored with 48, while Brian Mighten (26) and Ronville Brown (22) were also among the runs.

Dane Scott bagged three for 34 bowling for Heartease.

In reply, the St Thomas champions were restricted to 104 for nine off their allotted overs. Jowayne Robinson topscored with 18, against the bowling of Erron Downer (4-24) and Andre Brown, who took three for 11.

In the other group game played at the same venue, Melrose of Kingston defeated St Andrew’s Richmond Park by 31 runs. After winning the toss and opting to bat, Melrose made 109 all out before dismissing Richmond Park for 78.
