Peter Coleman was found dead Saturday evening in the Amity Hall Agro Park.
The discovery was made about 7:30 pm by a group walking along a dirt road in the Agro Park area, approximately four miles east of Old Harbour.
Upon examination, investigators noted multiple gunshot wounds to Coleman’s head and upper body, as well as eight spent shell casings recovered from the scene.
Preliminary findings suggest Coleman, who is of a Clarendon address, was transported to the location before being shot multiple times.
The Amity Hall area has seen increased foot traffic since the Bushy Park bridge was destroyed by flood waters in July, raising concerns among residents about safety in the vicinity.
Coleman's last known employment was at W&B Hardware, where he worked for three years before leaving two years ago. The Executive Director of W&B Group, Leleith Hesty, praised him as an exemplary worker.
So far this year, the St Catherine South Police Division has recorded 66 murders, showing a 20% decrease compared to the same period last year.
The investigation is ongoing.
