He has been identified as 28-year-old Sherrif Wilkie of an Old Harbour Bay enclave known as Bay Bottom.
It is understood that sometime in the afternoon of July 30 a passerby stumbled upon a body in bushes near the Spring Gardens main road just outside the district of Spring Village, approximately seven miles north of Old Harbour Bay.
The police were alerted to the scene where detectives observed a diminutive body of brown complexion with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the upper body and head.
Two government issued identification – a TRN card and voter ID – bearing the name Sherrif Wilkie, was removed from the pocket of the deceased.
Two spent shells were found at the scene, prompting investigators to theorize that Wilkie was taken to the location and murdered execution style.
Anyone with information related to the case is being urged to contact the Old Harbour CIB in an effort to assist with the investigation.
