They are 36-year-old taxi operator Vishaid Stewart, otherwise called ‘Blacks’ of Rollington Town, Kingston 13; 18-year-old Richard Jackson also of Rollington Town; and Adive King, a 35-year-old vendor of Spring Village.

The trio was formally charged on December 6 following an investigation by detectives assigned to the Old Harbour CIB.

The facts around the case are that on December 5, 2023 about 3:00 am, King was driving a Mitsubishi motor car with Stewart and Jackson aboard when the vehicle was stopped by a police team on duty along South Street.

During the search of the vehicle the police found a steel cutter, a safe and an undetermined sum of cash which the men failed to properly account for.

They were then taken into custody on suspicion of being in possession of stolen property.

Further investigation would revealed that the items were indeed stolen after the owner of ONS Electrical & Plumbing Supplies on South Street, Old Harbour reported a break-in at his establishment the same night.

The businessman was then able to give a positive identification of the items stolen including the safe that was found in the possession of the three suspects who were subsequently charged.
