Elderly Old Harbour Bay man found hanging
Adalf Dixon, better known as ‘Paw Son’, was found by a family member about 1:30 pm today along Main Street, Old Harbour Bay in the vicinity of Narine Lane.
Dixon, Old Harbour News understands, has been in a state of depression ever since Justina Lewis-Dixon – his wife of many decades and late fish vendor – died earlier this year.
A fisherman by trade in his heydays, Dixon migrated from Portland Cottage, Clarendon to Old Harbour Bay where he met his lifelong partner, residents say.
Their union produced five children.
The community describes Dixon as a respectable, humble and hard-working individual.
Residents quickly gathered at the scene after Dixon’s 11-year-old granddaughter raised an alarm after seeing his lifeless body hanging above ground by a piece of electrical wire.
The police were summoned while a funeral home provider was also called in to remove the body.
