Enigmatic Old Harbour Rastaman gunned down
According to the police about 9:00 pm, Pearson, 59 and his 49-year-old common-law wife Camile Gordon who is a teacher, had just driven into their yard when they were attacked.
“The now deceased came out of his car to open his gate when a White Toyota Probox motor car… drove up and stop behind his vehicle. One man armed with a hand gun alighted from same and opened gunfire at the couple the male ran and was chased by his attacker who shot him several times before escaping in the said White Toyota Probox,” stated the police report in part.
Gordon, who was shot in her legs and Pearson were both transported by the police to the hospital where the latter was pronounced dead on arrival.
Gordon’s injuries are not life-threatening and were treated and released.
Investigators theorized that Pearson was the target. Scenes of crime detectives retrieved eight spent casings and two expended bullets, as well as blood samples from the scene.
Pearson, a plumber by trade, is well known for his silver Nissan AD Wagon dotted with numerous Rastafarian emblems. That aside, Pearson has very few friends around him and is often characterize as arrogant by those who interacts with him.
Of note the said the police are that Pearson had several on-going matters before the court. His death is the fourth homicide committed in the Old Harbour Police Zone since the start of the year.
