They are 33-year-old businesswoman Sheena Price, a resident of New Harbour Village; 27-year-old fisherman Kemar Bent of Old Harbour Bay; and three teenage boys: one 17 years of age and two 15 years old.

The quintet has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition and being a part of a criminal organization.

If the allegations are proven in court, they could face a minimum of 15 to a maximum of 25 years imprisonment under the new Firearms Act (2022).

Investigators informed Old Harbour News that one of the 15 year-olds is a high school dropout, while the 17-year-old had completed his secondary education but is currently unemployed. All three juveniles reside in the Old Harbour area.

Reports from the police are that about 1:00 am they received information that the accused group was travelling along the Old Harbour Bay main road in a white Toyota Probox motorcar.

Officers on duty intercepted the vehicle and conducted a thorough search during which three 9mm pistols loaded with magazines affixed were discovered.

They were then taken to the police station where they were detained pending further investigations.

Four days later investigators believed they had enough information and evidence to charge the accused following another series of question and answer session in front of their attorneys.

Price, Old Harbour News understands, had just concluded her round-robin event the same night, when the police intercepted the vehicle.

A court date is now being finalized.
