The suspect fled the scene but was apprehended by police the following day. Formal charges have not yet been filed, Assistant Superintendent (ASP) Romario Rankin, commander of the Old Harbour Police Subdivision, confirmed to Old Harbour News.
“Charges will be laid once full statements are obtained from the victim and witnesses,” ASP Rankin said.
CCTV footage of the incident reportedly shows the victim attempting to defend himself with a stool before collapsing.
The police have withheld the suspect’s identity pending formal charges. Preliminary reports suggest the attack stemmed from a domestic dispute.
The victim, who suffered four stab wounds to the upper body, including one that punctured a lung, underwent emergency surgery. He remains on life support under close medical supervision.
