JPS power issue disrupts water supply in Old Harbour North
Since yesterday morning, several communities within the northern Old Harbour region have been without regular service which remains the same up to the time of publishing this article.
These communities are Bannister, Bullet Tree, Davis district, Brethren Town, Colbeck Housing Scheme in Red Ground and File Miles, Bartons.
In an advisory, the NWC said a “single-phase power supply issue is currently impacting pumping operations at the Graham Well water facility in St Catherine” which “has resulted in water supply disruption to customers served by the facility.
“The matter has been reported to the power supply service provider and full operation will resume as soon as power supply is restored to the facility.”
In essence the NWC is saying that that issue is a matter for the JPS and there is nothing that they can do at present to expedite the restoration of water service to the affected areas.
