Man accused of raping Church Pen girls captured

The accused man has been identified as 35-year-old Ricardo Brown, who resides in the Thetford community of Church Pen.
He was captured this afternoon by law enforcement officials in his native community of Yallahs, St Thomas, commander of the police subdivision of Old Harbour, ASP Romario Rankin informed Old Harbour News.
It was also revealed that Brown had a previous sex crime conviction committed in St Thomas for which he served time in prison.
The suspect is facing one count of rape, sexual offence of a child, grievous sexual assault, forcible abduction, unlawful detention with intent to commit sexual intercourse, and unlawful detention with intent to commit grievous sexual assault.
Allegations are that on May 7 about noon Brown held up the two sisters – ages10 and nine years old – who were on their way home from school and performed several sex acts on them, including having sexual intercourse with the older sibling.
The matter was reported to the Old Harbour police who immediately launched a manhunt.
He fled the area but a coordinated and intelligence driven approach by law enforcers led to his capture by the police in the eastern parish. Brown will be handed over to the St Catherine South Police headquarters where formal charges are expected.
