This as a result of “unforeseen challenges” arising from ongoing maintenance work at the facility originally scheduled for May 13-17.

However, normal service was not restored Friday as estimated due to other unexpected challenges that came up, said Clive Brown, NWC manager for the Old Harbour zone.

At the time of speaking to Old Harbour News yesterday, Brown said he could not provide a specific timeline when normal service could return to the over 3,000 affected households.

He said the work crew on site is working assiduously and extensively to restore supply in the shortest possible time which hopefully will happen before the weekend.

Meantime, residents have complained to Old Harbour News of having little or no stored water remaining.

The utility provider says water will be trucked to the affected areas.
