The family of a three-year-old boy remains too devastated to speak publicly following the tragic road crash that claimed the child's life on Saturday evening in Old Harbour Bay.

Old Harbour News reached out to the child's relatives on Tuesday, but they declined to comment as they continue to mourn their loss.

Police have identified the child as Ozaiah Williams of Blackwood Gardens, Old Harbour Bay, and say the incident occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. along Terminal Road in Old Harbour Bay.

Investigators reported that the three-year-old was fatally struck by a white 2017 Toyota Probox. It is further understood that while walking along the roadway the child slipped from the mother’s hand and made a dash across the road when he was hit by the vehicle.

A full report is being prepared by investigators at the Old Harbour police.

The tragedy has left relatives and members of the Old Harbour Bay community in mourning, with many expressing condolences to the grieving family.
