Old Harbour Bay man found dead
He has been identified as 39 years old Kirk Douglas, a tiler by profession from the said community.
It is suspected that Douglas died by electrocution.
According to investigation Douglas got home approximately 10 o’clock Wednesday night but then realized there was no electricity in the house which is connected by way of illegal extraction.
The tiler then went outside to reconnect the line.
However, sometime after 6:00 am the next day his lifeless body was discovered by neighbours, who contacted the police.
The neighbours observed Douglas clutching a pliers and an electrical wire at the time of the discovery. He also had on a yellow rubber glove on his right hand but none on his left hand. His fingers on his left hand were badly burnt, consistent with severe shock by high-voltage electricity.
A team from the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) was called in by the police to ensure the ground was safe before the body was retrieved and taken to a morgue.
The police have not seen any signs to indicate there was any foul play but will await a postmortem report to determine the cause of death.
