Old Harbour men remanded in custody
Twenty-three year-old Jevon ‘Rum Belly’ James and his co-accused Bryan ‘Blemmi’ Knight, 24, are slated to reappear in the Gun Court in a month’s time on March 20.
Both appeared in the St Catherine Parish Court in Spanish Town where their matter came up for mention. They were denied bail and their case transferred to the Gun Court.
The two have been charged with shooting with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition and conspiracy for allegedly shooting at 28-year-old Javion “Di Alpha’ Brown.
In a separate matter currently before the court, James is facing a charge of robbery against Brown.
According to investigators the original case between James and Brown seemed to have escalated on the morning of February 20 about 5:00 am.
Brown, in a report filed at the Old Harbour Police Station said he was attacked by James and Knight – both armed with guns – and had to run for his life.
Scene of crime detectives recovered eight 9mm spent casings along with other material evidence while processing the scene where the gun attack occurred.
James and Knight were subsequently arrested and charged.
