Old Harbour security guard on gun charge

Fifty-eight year-old David Williams is likely to be fired from his job as well, after he was stopped and searched by cops who observed him acting suspiciously.

Williams, who also goes by the aliases ‘Glen’ or ‘Sixteen’ was on West Street, Old Harbour at about 7:30 pm on August 24 when he was accosted by officers.

A search of his person and a knapsack he was carrying revealed handcuffs and a Browning 9mm pistol and eight rounds, the police wrote in a statement.

Upon further investigation, the police also discovered that Williams isn’t authorized to carry a gun.

His date in court is being finalized.
