Dead is Clayton Turner, 27, of Roadside district, Mount Rosser, while the police have since listed Conroy ‘Chroma’ Johnson as wanted for murder.

Turner died a day before celebrating his 28th birthday and is a popular fruit vendor along the famous Mount Rosser roadside.

According to relatives of the deceased, which has been confirmed by the police, about 4:00 am on January 18 in the family yard in Roadside district, Johnson and Turner’s mother who are in a common-law relationship were engaged in a heated argument when a gun was brought into play.

Turner, a Rastafarian, intervened in defense of his mother and was shot at least twice in the upper body. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Johnson, who is not a licensed firearm holder, then left the scene and has not been seen since.

The police have launched a man hunt for Johnson, a 53-year-old mechanic of a Linstead address, advising the public not to “harbour him in your community; he should be behind bars”.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Johnson is urged to call the Spanish Town Police at 876 984 2305, Crime Stop at 311, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.

Editor’s Note: The police have listed Johnson’s first name as Conron, relatives of the deceased informed Old Harbour News that his correct name is Conroy.
