Three robbers shot fatally by licensed firearm holder in Kingston

Three of four robbers were fatally shot by a licensed firearm holder who managed to foil a robbery and kidnapping attempt in Kingston last night.

It is understood that about 9:00 pm the licensed firearm holder, who is the driver of a coaster bus belonging to a private company, was pounced upon by the armed men on Brettford Avenue, Kingston 10. The driver was ordered out of the bus and placed in a “white Toyota Fielder” motor car a report from the police stated.

In explaining what transpired thereafter the police said “during a struggle with three of the men in the car” the bus driver “managed to pull his licensed firearm and discharged several rounds hitting all three men who later succumbed to their injuries”.

Two of the robbers died were later found dead along Lockley Hemmings Way in the vicinity of Seaward Drive and the other along Pandora Avenue.

The fourth robber escaped in the coaster bus which was tracked to intersection of Appleton Avenue and Abonettee Drive in Duhaney Park, St Andrew.

Investigation continues.
