VIDEO: Man steals phone from Old Harbour company office

The Old Harbour police are seeking the assistance of the public to identify man who was caught on camera removing a phone from a company office in Old Harbour.

The incident occurred Monday morning of this week at the Global Laboratory and Health Services Company situated at a business complex on South Street, Old Harbour.

The video footage shows a neatly attired young man sporting a jersey and baseball cap walking into the office, while appearing to be busy talking on his mobile phone.

While the business owner was attending to a customer, the man removed a cellular phone that was on the counter by placing a handkerchief over the implement before calmly making his exit.

The matter has been reported to the police; however, 72 hours later investigators informed Old Harbour News that they are to nab the suspect.

The police also confirmed a report has been lodged that the said suspect went to a doctor’s office next door and removed $5,000 from a woman’s bag.

Investigators from the Old Harbour CIB and cybercrimes unit are currently examining several footages into the matter, a Detective Smith advised Old Harbour News.

Meanwhile, the police are urging shoppers and business owners to be more vigilant with the festive season fast approaching.
