Head of the Old Harbour CIB Insp. Glen McGill says investigators are hoping the public will be able to view the footages and assist them in nabbing the culprits.

In two separate videos submitted to Old Harbour News the men were seen with what appeared to be a steel cutter and crowbar entering a commercial complex at 5 South Street, Old Harbour.

The recordings were obtained after two business owners lodged formal complaints with the Old Harbour police that their business establishments were burglarized at “some time between 8:00 pm April 30, 2019 and 6:30 am May 1, 2019”.

According to the police report, one of the businesses - a hardware store - reported losing cash, tools, phones among other items amounting to approximately $2 million.

On the same complex a wholesale was broken into with losses estimated at half-a-million dollars  after the thieves made off with several crates of liquors, cash and other items.

In the video the three men were seen stealthily climbing over a giant gate at the front of the premises. The identity of one of the men was fully concealed, however his partners in crime  were not so smart as their identities are quite visible.

It is believed that the men made good their escape via a high wall at the back of the compound which could suggest that other persons might have been involved.
