Charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition are 33-year-old construction worker Kenroy ‘Bubbler’ Davidson and Troy Campbell, 33, otherwise called ‘Kartel’ who is a welder by trade. Both men are from Terminal Road, Old Harbour Bay.

According to the police yesterday members of the constabulary’s operational support team (OST) and the military were carrying out duties at a vehicular check point in the Old Harbour Bay area in the vicinity of Settlement and Blackwood Gardens.

At about 10:00 pm a white Toyota Probox motor car with two men aboard was stopped and searched.

During the search one black Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol with a magazine containing eight 9mm cartridges was found on the floor on the passenger side of the front seat.

Crucially for detectives is that the serial number of the seized weapon is visible and now forms a vital piece of evidence in this and perhaps other matters under investigation.

Both men are classified as violence producers, the police alleged.

A court date is being finalised for the two accused.
