This year’s staging propels The Best Dressed Chicken to the forefront of the upcoming gospel festival with long-time partners Glory Music; a partnership that began from the first staging of Fun in the Son 2002 in Ocho Rios.

The Gospel Festival, which will be held on April 20, 2024, at the National Stadium, promises a hub for the whole family. The event will start at 10:00am with The Best Dressed Chicken Village, featuring a food court including some of Jamaica’s favourite food vendors alongside a dynamic youth area.

Having collaborated with Jamaica Child Evangelism Fellowship, the dedicated children’s area guarantees fun-filled activities, bouncy houses, and treats, while the teens zone, developed with Youth Reaching Youth, will offer rides, digital games, and a vibrant, Gospel-centred programme.

The Best Dressed Chicken will also host its Work and Wellness Hub with their partners at Operation Mobilization recruiting persons for missions on the Logos Ship; The University of Technology, will recruit persons for their teacher education programme; and the Jamaica Constabulary Force will be recruiting officers. The Ministry of Health and Wellness and Jamaica Medical Doctors’ Association are also on board to provide medical check-ups as well as dental cleanings and denture fitting.

The evening will culminate with the much-anticipated Gospel concert from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, hosted by Nadine Blair and Timmy Sky and showcasing a lineup of both local and international artistes including Kirk Franklin, TobyMac, Kevin Downswell, Jermaine Edwards, Carlene Davis, Petra Kaye and Prince Saj.

At the media launch held yesterday at the AC Hotel, Jamaica Broilers Group President and CEO Christopher Levy, spoke passionately about the true essence of the event and the purpose. He emphasised that The Best Dressed Chicken deciding to stage the event on the joyous occasion of its 65th anniversary goes beyond mere monetary value.

“If I were to look at the return on investment of what we spend as an organisation versus souls, people who made lifelong decisions — The return on investment is amazing. It's not about the numbers. It's about the one.  It's about the one person that says, ‘I choose Jesus’. That's the purpose, that's the effort, that's the energy, that's the result.”

With its vibrant atmosphere and festive spirit, The Best Dressed Chicken Fun in the Son serves as a platform to connect with individuals, aiming to win souls for Christ and create a meaningful impact on each person’s spiritual journey.

Levy continued, “It's a tremendous honour for Jamaica Broilers to be in this position to share this gift that we've been given with folks”.

Glory Music’s Chief Vision Officer, Tommy Cowan echoed the sentiments, emphasising the winning of souls and transforming lives.

“To date over 20,000 people have come to know the Lord at Fun in the Son. Today, we give thanks to the goodness of God over these 23 years for Fun in the Son. We give thanks for the partnership of Jamaica Broilers and ourselves, and that we’re going down the same path with the same vision,” he said.

The media launch, attended by esteemed dignitaries, including the Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia Grange, and Representative of the Gospel Festival’s Church Mobilization team, Peter Garth, laid the groundwork for a festival that promises to resonate with the community.

Gospel ministers Carlene Davis and Prince Saj delivered captivating performances, offering a preview of the musical brilliance that awaits at The Best Dressed Chicken Fun in the Son festival.

The Best Dressed Chicken invites everyone to join in this celebration, a testament to 65 years of shared faith, unity, and vibrant cultural richness.
