DAILY DEVOTION: Claiming abundance (The Patience)
There are so many people who are believing that God is able to do great things for them and they are ‘trusting’ God for abundance. We need to understand however that an important part of trusting is waiting. This is the part of trusting that says, Lord, by your power and IN YOUR TIME. Many, would-be-victors, jumped ship on God, because they supposed that He was taking too long to get them to their desired destination. They figured that they can swim much better than they can wait. They cannot afford to wait. Some might even ‘get there’ before the ‘waiters’, but I guarantee you, they would have been better off if they had waited. God, in His wonderful wisdom, wants us to reach to certain stages in life. These stages are not just characterized by ‘where we are’ but more so by ‘how we are’. God not only want to change our position, but also our condition. He knows full well that if you are in a high position with a low condition, you will slump and start acting out your condition. The sad reality is that an unsaved man would NOT enjoy being in heaven in His unsaved state. God therefore wants to give us abundance but He carries us through a process to prep us for this. Let's patiently allow the Lord to work on us, so that when abundance comes we are ready.
James 1:4: But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Shalom!
