DAILY DEVOTION: Working for The King
You may think, ‘I am not a Pastor or a church worker, I am just a Christian, doing mundane work’. I don’t need to give any special quality as I work for the ‘world's system’. Oh but that's where you are wrong. My children represent me wherever they go and whatever they do, how much more I represent my Heavenly Father in ALL my undertakings. I dare not think that I can: be shoddy in my work attitude; a hog on the road; skipping the line at the bank; rushing to get that last seat on the bus before that old lady who I think didn't have as rough a day as I did - without realizing that each of these activities will cause the devil to laugh in God's face. Nothing preaches Christ like kindness and decency even when the recipients don’t know that I am a Christian.
As we work for the King today, let's be to others as if we were in their position, we would wish that someone would do for us. This glorifies God.
Col. 3:23-24: And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not unto men;
Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. See also Matt.7:12 & 1; Cor.10:31
Shalom!
