Gospel artiste Jermaine Gordon shares God’s word with students in Old Harbour
Among the schools visited were the Old Harbour and Old Harbour Bay primary schools where hundreds lift their voices to the Lord.
The current school visits, according Gordon, is a part of a much larger initiative called Inspiring Our Future 360°.
Inspiring Our Future 360° is a volunteer programme designed to give teenagers, young adults, professionals, skilled persons, students and others an opportunity to share hope, love and healing with children in state care or attending school.
Gordon, who is the recent recipient of an honorary doctorate degree in Canada, says that raising children the best way has always been a partnership.
“The children in the state-run child care facilities are the responsibility of the government, but in fact it is also a shared responsibility. Likewise the children in our schools and all the children across the nation need the support of the community to remain safe and live well,” Gordon said in a response to Old Harbour News.
The gospel artiste says that every well-thinking Jamaican should come on aboard to aid the process, which aims to impact 200,000.
“Sure enough it is the police job to maintain law and order but as citizens we all play a role in keeping Jamaica as a law abiding state,” he said.
The programme also includes conducting school devotions, motivational story-telling, journaling, reading, music, singing and other creative arts designed to help children with temperamental issues such as anger, impatience, unforgiveness, and indifference.
