Marlie Gate murder suspect in custody
Thirty-nine year-old management consultant and resident of Barbican, upper St Andrew Davion Wilson was accosted by a group of armed thugs and taken into bushes nearby and shot dead.
At the time of the murder detectives could not identify the deceased as he isn’t originally from the area.
However, a few days later investigators, pursuing several leads, detained a man from the Marlie Gate community, a tiny enclave adjacent to Old Harbour Villa and opposite Marlie Mount.
The identity of the suspect cannot be disclosed at this time because he’s yet to be charged.
According to reports about 8:30 pm on the day in question, Wilson, who also goes by alias ‘Bobo’, was sitting outside a premises with another man when he was approached by armed men.
Wilson was corralled by the gunmen and taken into the woods nearby after which several gunshots rang out.
His lifeless body was then discovered by residents who summoned the police.
Investigators immediately opened a probe into the homicide, resulting in one suspect being taken into custody so far.
Head of the Old Harbour CIB Detective Inspector Carl Morris, said they continue to glean through several information regarding the investigation surrounding Wilson’s killing, and will update the public accordingly.
