Sir John Golding Rehab receives portable ultrasound machine
Speaking at the official handover presentation on July 3 Dr. Rory Dixon, senior medical officer, SJGRC, said that the machine will improve the hospital’s ability to screen more patients.
In 2019, the centre received 17 wheelchairs from Community and Workers of Jamaica (C&WJ) Co-operative Credit Union Limited and a suction machine from Rotary Club of St. Andrew North.
Meanwhile, chief executive officer of the centre, Jacqueline Ellis, expressed gratitude for the life-saving equipment, while acknowledging the kind support of C&WJ Co-operative Credit Union and the Rotary Club of St. Andrew North.
SJGRC is one of the specialist hospitals under the management of the South East Regional Health Authority that has a capacity for over 75 inpatients, including children. Patients include persons with spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, congenital defects and other neurological conditions, as well as orthopaedic conditions, primarily lower limb amputations.
