Medical equipment and supplies have been boosted at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital (VJH) following a donation by the Jamaica United Relief Association (JURA).

During a ceremonial presentation Monday, the US-based humanitarian aid group donated a J$4million mechanical ventilator among other medical supplies such as laryngoscopes, pumps, glucometer machines, speculums and other items, to the maternity hospital that delivers 7500 newborns annually.

“Therefore an additional ventilator will improve the hospital’s ability to treat more babies with moderate to severe respiratory challenges,” the hospital said.
