Two men charged in missing Jasmine Deen probe

They are 40-year-old Tamar Henry, otherwise called ‘Braff’ or ‘Lavish’ of Bull Bay, St. Andrew and 36-year-old Gregor Wright, also known as ‘G’.

Both Wright and Henry are charged with the offences of possession of identity information, eight (8) counts of unauthorized access to computer data and simple larceny. Henry was also charged with possession of identity information and breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.

Both remain in custody pending court appearances and the continuation of the missing person investigation.

Deen, who is visually impaired, was last seen in Papine, St Andrew on February 27, sporting a white blouse and blue jeans pants.

There has been widespread public outcry since her disappearance with the police launching a high-level probe headed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey. 

The probe has led investigators to conduct several raids at premises in the corporate area, Bull Bay, St Andrew; Greendale, Manchester and Ocho Rios, St Ann.

At a media briefing in March ACP Bailey said detectives were able to access Deen’s mobile phone records which indicated that her phone was “active” up 12:35 am on February 28, a little over three hours after she was helped across the road by a vendor who sells at the back gate of the university.

"On February 27, at about 10:34 pm, Ms Deen, based on her cell phone, was in Bull Bay. At 12:19 am, we can say that we have evidence that there were movements in Harbour View. At 12:35 a.m. (February 28), we can say the last time her phone was active was somewhere in downtown Kingston," ACP Bailey said at the time.

Last night’s update by the police is likely to raise hope for many Jamaicans as the investigations deepens, but the pain being borne by Deen’s family lingers on.

The police said more information will follow as soon as it becomes available.
