Former commander in charge of the St Catherine South Police sub-division of Old Harbour Damion Manderson has been promoted to the rank of superintendent.

Manderson, 39, is among 20 deputy superintendents (DSP) elevated to the rank of superintendent (Supt.) in the latest force orders announced by the Governor General on the advised of the Police Services Commission.

Five superintendents were also appointed to senior superintendent (SSP).

The former DSP was earlier this month reassigned to the St Andrew South Police Division after spending just over two years as head of the Old Harbour police zone which covers the entire constituency of St Catherine South Western.

Responding to his preferment Supt. Manderson told Old Harbour News that his: “Elevation calls for even stronger leadership with its added responsibilities.”

He further stated: “It was an honour working with everyone who has impacted my 11 years career. You have aided in making me who I am and where I am today. I continue to be the people’s servant in service.”

DSP Mark Harris is the current head of the Old Harbour policing district.
