A family dispute that turned deadly is now the centre of a police murder probe.
Dead is 47-year-old fisherman Carol ‘Coppa’ Chambers, the stepfather of Marlon Simpson, who is now in police custody charged with murdering the deceased.
The incident occured about 7:15 pm yesterday in an enclave known as Dagger Bay in Old Harbour Bay.
According to the police report, Simpson, who is also a fisherman and Chambers, had a dispute which escalated into a fight between them.
Simpson, the police said, used a knife to stab his stepfather in the upper body and abdomen. Chamber’s girlfriend tried to intervene, the police claimed, and was stabbed in her leg.
Both Chambers and his partner were rushed to the May Pen Hospital, where he was pronounced dead and the fiance treated and released.
Investigators from the Old Harbour Police CIB and Scene of Crime Unit have taken blood samples and statements to commence the investigation process.
