All three Scotiabank’s automated teller machines (ATMs) at South Street, Old Harbour, have been closed temporarily to facilitate renovation, said the bank.

In an advisory, the island’s second largest commercial bank stated that normal services at this particular location in Jamaica’s fastest growing town is expected to return on November 18, 2022.

The short-term closure took effect November 9, 2022, leaving many customers incensed by the short notice which was posted on the bank’s official Instagram account yesterday.

This announcement will likely inconvenience many Scotiabank customers. However, clients will be able to only conduct cash withdrawals at nearby Scotiabank ATMs such as Fesco Service Station at Bodles Crescent, Rubis Old Harbour and Sydenham Plaza, Old Harbour Road. For other type of transactions they will have to travel to branches in May Pen or Spanish Town.

Two of the three Scotiabank ATMs at South Street are full service robots capable of facilitating multiple kinds of financial transactions.

While apologizing for this inconvenience, the bank urges customers to make use its mobile app and online facilities to perform various transactions.

Scotiabank Old Harbour branch was permanently closed on May 14, 2021.
