Traffic diverted after murder on West Street, Old Harbour

His identity has not been ascertained yet, but Old Harbour News understands that he is from the community of Spring Village.

Unconfirmed information is that the man was attacked by a gunman who shot him multiple times in the upper body.

He died on the spot.

Alleged eyewitnesses claimed 10 shots were fired during the attack.  

When Old Harbour News visited the scene multiple spent shells were observed while the lifeless body was lying face down and clad in a black t-shirt, blue jeans and a multi-colour sneakers.

The police were quick onto the scene and the body removed.

A police cordon has since been drawn around the crime scene and traffic diverted.

Motorists are being urged to use alternate routes while detectives process the area.

It is believed to be the first murder recorded in the Old Harbour police zone since the start of the year.
