The deceased persons have been identified as 22-year-old Kirk McNeil and Kenesha Peters, 30, both residents of the fishing community.

According to preliminary investigation, Peters, who is unemployed was caught by stray bullets after armed thugs barged into a yard nearby about 10:20 pm Sunday.

Peters, it is said, was sitting on the outside in Station Lane when she was hit in the upper body.

The following day about 4:00 pm, the body of McNeil was discovered with gunshot wounds in a swampy field in the Terminal area.

According to the police, residents reported hearing loud explosions after which McNeil was found dead.

Based on information gleaned by detectives, it is alleged that McNeil, otherwise called ‘Kirky’ or ‘Cock Chicken’ was fingered among the men who carried out Sunday’s gun attack that cost the life of Peters.

Another man, who the police have not named, has been taken into custody but is yet to be charged. Detectives believe he is one of the accomplices who were with McNeil at the time of the gun attack.

The police say a feud had developed between McNeil and another man who lives in Station Lane hence the reason for the gun attack on Sunday.

Investigation continues.
