DJ Kurt Riley donates $100,000 to Dr Kurt Waul Foundation

The influential DJ made the contribution during a recent gig at the Old Harbour Bay public beach where he was guest selector at a Family Fun Day on Heroes Sunday.

Following the presentation of a symbolic cheque to Dr Kurt Waul, the ace disc jockey said: “It’s not every day that you can help someone but through a well-planned and strategic system; one can make an even greater impact on a person in need or even several persons. This is the very reason I chose to support the Dr Kurt Waul Foundation.

“I enjoyed my recent experience at the community fun day; the support was more than I expected and I loved the energy of the people. What hit me the most was the amount on men out with their children, walking, running, playing and making sure they were safe. I never hear society speaking about those fathers out there and as a father myself, it became all the more significant for me to highlight them and encourage them to value the time they have with them - the future generation, their legacy and to support what it means to be a family.”

Dr Kurt Waul, a medical doctor by profession turn politician, is a native of Old Harbour Bay. Four years ago he decided to enter representational politics, representing the People’s National Party (PNP) in the constituency of St Catherine South Western of which Old Harbour Bay is a major geography and is home to some 10,000 people.

A grateful Dr Waul says the donation from Riley will go a far way while urging other persons to see the value in what the foundation is seeking to achieve and give their support.

DJ Kurt Riley is a true star and a very generous man and so we are anticipating that this will be the beginning of a lasting relationship of mutual benefit that ultimately will redound to the benefit of the people,” he said.
