75-y-o passes away after falling from hospital third floor
The incident occurred in the ward where the patient was admitted. Upon discovery, hospital staff acted swiftly to provide immediate medical attention. The patient was transported to the Accident and Emergency (A&E) Department, where medical professionals made every effort to resuscitate him. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, the patient did not survive.
KPH has reached out to the patient’s family to deliver the sad news and has extended counselling services to support them during this difficult time. In a statement, the management team expressed their deepest condolences to the family, emphasizing their commitment to offering further assistance as needed.
A comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is currently underway. The findings will be reported to the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the Board of the South East Regional Health Authority. Additionally, the incident has been reported to the police, who have launched an independent investigation into the matter.
