Krazii K working towards big break
The emerging talent has been quietly making a name for himself, with a growing legion of over 19,000 Instagram followers.
Krazii K is no stranger to performing arts, having entered in numerous Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) competitions throughout his primary and high school years.
Now 21, the singjay/comdedian from Old Harbour is pushing for his big break.
In a recent chat with Old Harbour News the he says his raw talent was evident from “about age five”.
He has developed further on his craft by doing a few courses in animation. This has enabled him to venture into another creative form of the arts. Comedy.
“The comedy thing now, mi a do that bout four years now and slowly a advance in a it, getting better and better each day,” he said.
There’s meaning to everything he does, which shedding light on everyday realities in life.
Music is his first love which he says “is a gift from God”, but right now general support isn’t up to any great level. Hence much of his recent work is focused on doing funny skits.
“We have the product, so all we need to do now is sell it,” said McCalla. “So far it’s going good, because day by day more people a subscribe to the page and a follow it. Dem a follow it because a di comedy, dem a follow it because dem have a music video dem want fi shoot, because mi do all a dat to, and dem a follow it because a my music.”
He added: “The music thing, you have people who a support it but the strength weh it fi get… you know how Jamaica system setup dem naah really put the energy in a it; therefore you have to a put een more time.
“The comedy thing now, you know somebody si a video and by the time dem look pon it dem start laugh and it mek them happy. So dem click on a next one and start laugh again and then and there dem watch and watch til dem tyad fi laugh.”
