Avis’ 17 points in vain as Camperdown defeat Old Harbour again
It is the second time Camperdown have gotten the better of Old Harbour in the preliminary round in the Southern Conference Zone A, this time winning 59-51.
And the fact that Camperdown’s victory was achieved on their rival’s home turf - the Old Harbour Church of Christ court - will certainly cement their status as the team to go all the way and claim national glory this season.
Matthew McGowan (17 points) and Tyrese Henry (13) led the victory charge of the visitors, as well as Nickel Wright and Alright Morris with 10 rebounds and 10 assists respectively.
Derjean Royal supported Avis with 11 points.
In under-16 battle, Old Harbour see off Camperdown 44-41 in a tight game. Kyle Manley led Old Harbour with a game high 19 points while snatching four rebounds, while teammate Jeremy Grant was fantastic scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and three blocked shots.
Camperdown’s Fabian Kennedy was also in excellent form, albeit in a losing effort, registering 17 points, 10 rebounds, five steals, two assists and two blocks.
Ardenne completed the double over Meadowbrook, crushing their opponents 87-14 in U16 action before strolling to 60-41 victory in the senior encounter.
