Top striker Tajay Baker scored five times in Old Harbour Bay’s impressive 6-0 romp over Moores in the latest round of matches in the Charley’s JB Rum Super League on the weekend.

Schoolboy Saqlain Waul got the other goal for the home side, as Old Harbour Bay moved up to third in the overall points table, while Moores were suffering their ninth defeat of the season to remain rooted at the bottom. Given the stark contrast and the gulf in class, it was an expected result that perhaps only the visitors were not anticipating.

By half-time at the Marlie Acres Sports Complex, the hosts were two goals up after Baker scored in the 14th and 39th minutes. The striker then completed his hat-trick in the 57th minute before adding a fourth and fifth either side of Wauls’ strike in the 67th minute.

Leaders Blackstar continued their unbeaten run with a close fought 3-2 win over Vere United in the Clarendon derby at Newton Sports Complex. The defeat saw Vere slipped to fourth on goal difference below Old Harbour Bay on 19 points.
