Bodles resident killed in gun attack
The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old labourer Anthony McDonald otherwise called ‘Sleave Man’ or ‘Dadsy’ who worked at the Bodles Research Centre.
The injured man is said to be 20 years old and is also an employee at the Bodles Research Centre.
Both the deceased and injured men are from Peace Street.
According to the police about 8:00 pm yesterday the now deceased and injured man, were at Pix Groceries Shop in the community when they were approached by three men all armed with handguns.
The gunmen then fired several shots hitting the two men multiple times. They then escaped onto the highway into a waiting vehicle.
McDonald died on the spot, however the other man was rushed by family members to the hospital where his health status is said to be serious but stable.
No motive has been established.
The shooting capped a harrowing night for the residents as a quiet and peaceful Easter Sunday turned into mourning.
It will be extremely difficult for relatives and friends of McDonald who celebrated with him his 29th birthday just four days ago.
Investigation continues.
