Body believed to be missing Kingston taxi driver found in Old Harbour

The grim discovery was made around 7:50 a.m. last Saturday by residents of Lodge in Port Esquivel, Old Harbour, who stumbled upon a partially decomposed body and immediately alerted the authorities.

After a detailed examination of the scene, during which several pieces of evidence, including tissue samples, were collected for DNA testing, investigators have tentatively identified the body as that of Milton Fitzgerald Edwards. Edwards, a taxi driver, operated on the Duhaney Park to Price Rite route in Kingston.

The body matched the description provided in the missing person report filed by Edwards' family on Friday morning at the Waterford Police Station in Portmore. According to the preliminary investigation, the deceased was dressed in blue jeans, a blue ganzie, and blue socks, with a pair of black sneakers and duct tape found nearby.

The hands of the deceased were placed in a preservative bag, though investigators could not confirm whether they had been severed or dismembered due to the advanced state of decomposition.

While the investigation is still in its early stages, detectives are leaning toward the theory that the man, believed to be in his 40s, may have been killed elsewhere and later dumped at the location.

The investigation remains ongoing.
