Contrary to circulating rumors, multiple sources have confirmed that the young woman, a native of Spring Village, survived the incident and did not succumb to her injuries.

According to the Old Harbour Police Traffic Unit, the accident occurred between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Reports indicate that while traveling toward Old Harbour, the motorcyclist attempted to maneuver around a car that had signaled to stop. In the process, she was struck by an oncoming cement truck.

The impact of the collision resulted in the rider’s right leg being severed, creating a distressing scene that many bystanders found difficult to witness.

A video circulating on social media shows the severely damaged motorcycle lying on the road while the injured woman writhes in pain. In the footage, a man can be heard urging bystanders to transport her to the hospital.

Speaking with Old Harbour News, a police officer noted that the motorcyclist exercised poor judgment by not waiting for a clear path before attempting to overtake.

The accident caused significant traffic congestion, with long delays in both directions as authorities worked to clear the scene.
