Ares, a Kingston businessman, was reported missing two weeks prior the discovery of his body which was wrapped in a tarpaulin.
Investigators were able to make a breakthrough when a man was found driving a vehicle belonging to Ares, who was still missing at the time.
Further investigations led the police to unravel a plot allegedly involving the five persons charged.
At the time of his death Ares was on suspension pending the outcome of an investigation into alleged fraudulent activities by his employers at the then Ministry of Youth and Culture, an Old Harbour News investigation revealed.
