Foetus removed from pit latrine in Old Harbour

An investigation has been launched by detectives from the Old Harbour Police Station after a foetus was discovered in a pit latrine in North Street, Old Harbour.

The police say a suspect is yet to be determined as investigation is still in its infancy.

Reports are that at some point following daybreak yesterday morning the police were summoned to a premises in North Street after a member noticed something unusual in the pit toilet.

The object was then removed and upon closer observation was determined to be that of a human foetus which has been subsequently handed over to hospital officials for proper disposal.

Tissue samples have been taken from the foetus to aid detectives in their investigation with the hope of being able to connect the female for this unborn offspring.

Investigation continues.
