“As we continue our growth strategy with further expansion in the United States, our subsidiary Wincorp Properties, Inc., is finalising the execution of an asset purchase agreement with Crystal Farms Mills, Inc,” the JBG said in a statement.

As at August 27 the Jamaica Broilers Group will take over daily operations of the feed mill, the company stated.

President of JBG’s US operations Stephen Levy, in commenting on the acquisition, said the acquisition will boost its profitability.

“The feed mill’s third party feed sales will result in increased revenues and profitability for the Group. With the Feed Mill’s ideal location on the Norfolk Southern Railroad, and its double railway spur, we are able to take full advantage of grain logistics. The acquisition allows our US operations to have greater control over its feed supplies,” Levy said.

JBG’s US operations currently has breeder farms that produce fertile hatching eggs, in Arkansas and Georgia, in addition to operating hatcheries in Iowa and Pennsylvania.
“We remain committed to continuous investment in the growth and efficiency of all our operations,” Levy added.

The Jamaica Broilers Group is celebrating 60 years in the poultry business, having built a progressive, vertically integrated company, with operations that span Jamaica, the United States and Haiti.
