JUTC commissions Spanish Town to Old Harbour route to daily schedule
Yes, the JUTC has formally added the Spanish Town to Old Harbour to its schedule, just over a week ago, providing commuters with more affordable transportation options.
Two units have been dispatched to its newest route with the 510 route number assigned for ease of reference, according to an official communiqué seen by Old Harbour News.
A unit will depart from Old Harbour at 5:30 am each morning while final trip of the day to Spanish Town is slated for 7:10 pm. On the reverse, the first bus will depart the Old Capital at 6:30 am, with 6:00 pm set as the last departure time.
Commuters can purchase or top-up their JUTC smart card at the Spanish Town lay-by, My Pharmacy at Willowdene Park Way, Prescription Plus Pharmacy on East Street, Old Harbour and Kennedy’s Pharmacy on Juici Plaza, Old Harbour.
The new route follows similar move by the state-owned bus company to expand its service to St Thomas.
Transport Minister Daryl Vaz has committed to expand the JUTC service to rural areas in response to public demand.
The move is part of the government's commitment to expand its rural transportation service to the public.
