Antwone Lewis, who is mentally challenged, was brought to the Old Harbour police by a Good Samaritan who noticed he wasn’t in the correct frame of mind.

The police then made a public appeal after Lewis told them he was 14 years old and his mother’s name is Leticia Douglas.

It was later discovered that Lewis is a resident of Paradise Court situated at the corner of Collie Smith Drive and 11th Street in Trench Town, Kingston.

Contact was eventually made with Douglas, who went to Old Harbour to accept custody of her son who is said to be autistic.

The police informed Old Harbour News that based on the nature of the matter the teen boy was handed over as a lost child rather than as a missing person because he has a tendency of going to places and getting lost.

This perhaps sums up why Lewis has been reported missing by the police on multiple occasions this year alone and further indicates that state agencies such as the Child Protection and Family Service Agency (CPFSA) needs to work closely with the family to device practices that could prevent such frequent occurrences.
