Le’BLAC Beauty Studio owner Shadé Thomas
Shadé’s inspiration for Le’BLAC Beauty Studio stems from her love of transformation — the joy of seeing someone walk in feeling one way and leave looking and feeling completely different.
"I love when people feel good about themselves," she shares.
While Le’BLAC initially started as a full-service salon offering hair, nails, makeup, and lash services, space limitations led her to refine her focus. Today, she specializes in waxing, facials, makeup, and eyebrow services, with dreams of expanding her offerings to include tailoring and full beauty packages in the future.
At Le’BLAC, beauty sessions go beyond aesthetics — they are about connection and self-care. Clients don’t just come for a service; they come for an experience.
“It’s their therapy time,” Shadé explains. “We talk, we relax, and by the time we’re done, they feel amazing.”
She believes, this personal touch is what sets Le’BLAC apart from other beauty studios in Old Harbour. Shadae ensures that every client feels comfortable, no matter how intimate or nerve-wracking the service may be.
"I listen. I make them feel like my friend, so there’s never an awkward moment."
Le’BLAC’s most sought-after services are waxing and makeup, both designed to boost confidence and enhance beauty. Clients often leave excited and empowered, frequently saying: "I can’t wait to go out tonight — I look amazing!"
Looking ahead, Shadé is expanding Le’BLAC’s services to include threading and henna, offering even more variety for her growing clientele.
Le’BLAC Beauty Studio has also started working with local influencers to expand its reach and showcase its top-tier services to a wider audience. This partnership highlights Le’BLAC’s commitment to excellence and client satisfaction, proving that its services meet the highest standards in the beauty industry.
Shadé’s commitment to beauty extends beyond her studio — she is passionate about giving back to her community.
She recently visited a girls’ home, bringing along a team to teach young girls how to care for their hair and experience self-care through massages and beauty treatments. This initiative was designed to boost their confidence and help them feel valued.
Additionally, Le’BLAC runs a loyalty programme and spreads holiday cheer by giving away care packages during Christmas.
Shadé’s journey is one of hard work, resilience, and determination. Coming from a humble background, she acknowledges that while her parents laid the foundation, she is now building the walls.
A former student of Black River and Tarrant high schools, she later pursued her education at the University of Technology, Jamaica. Beyond Le’BLAC Beauty Studio, Shadae is a multi-business owner and manager, overseeing several ventures, including The Habitat, a barbershop known for top-tier grooming services, which is operated by a trusted professional.
Understanding the importance of mentorship, Shadae decided to take on a student from Old Harbour High School’s cosmetology class. This initiative provides hands-on training and insights into the beauty industry, helping young talents decide on their future career paths.
As a way to give back to her loyal customers, Shadé introduced Sip & Glam, an event where she teaches clients how to do their own makeup while they sip wine and relax.
"All women love to learn something new, so I wanted to create a fun, interactive space where they could enhance their beauty skills in a comfortable environment,” she said.
For those looking to book an appointment, Le’BLAC Beauty Studio is easily accessible via Instagram, Google, and walk-ins.
Shadae’'s message to her clients is simple yet powerful:"Le’BLAC is more than a beauty studio — it’s a safe, welcoming space where everyone is made to feel like family."
