Man shot, injured at Old Habour Market
The victim was taken to the hospital while his attacker, one alleged eyewitness claimed, walked away from the scene as if nothing happened.
No arrest has been made, while the condition of the victim is said to be not life threatening.
Old Harbour News understands that at about 5:00 pm the victim was standing along the sidewalk at the entrance of the market when he was approached by a man who pulled a gun and fired several rounds.
The incident sent shoppers during rush hour scampering, while the gunman left the scene on foot.
This is the latest in a series of gun violence to have happened in the town centre over the last few years which is serious cause for concern among locals. And the fact that the parish is currently under a public state of emergency is even more concerning given the manner in which the gunman was able to escape without being even challenged primarily due to limited police personnel on the ground.
