The latest concern was raised this morning by operators who use the East Street Transportation Park.
Following early morning showers, operators began sharing images on social media of the state of the facility. In the images received by Old Harbour News, puddles of water were visible in the laybys.
This is due to the incompletion of the surface of the park, constructed in December of last year.
In truth, work has not been moving as fast as he would like, said the Mayor. However, he noted operators must appreciate the challenges coming out of a post-covid-19 health pandemic and the fact that the municipality relies on central government to fund projects such as building a bus park.
Against this background Mayor Scott has called on operators to exercise patience.
“As I have indicated, this is a work in progress and incrementally, we are doing things there,” The Mayor tells Old Harbour News. “We are close to having it completely covered. It was oiled and sand, and before the August Independence holiday we will have it paved.”
The East Street Transportation Park accommodates operators who ply routes to Kingston, Spanish Town, Gutters, Spring Village and Old Harbour Bay.
